DALLAS – August 1, 2018 – Ultravision, a leading innovator, manufacturer and distributor of LED displays and LED lighting, today announced its signature LED display on Cromwell Road in London was used to promote mobile brand O2’s “Oops!” campaign, which won “People’s Favourite” at the 2018 Outdoor Media Awards.
“Oops!”, a multi-million dollar ad campaign promoting free screen replacements for broken phones, grabbed attention from A4 commuters by creatively using graphics to make Ultravision’s LED display on Cromwell Road appear “cracked” and displaying the message “Oops!” The image resonated with consumers and evoked the familiar “Oops!” moment that many have experienced after dropping their phone.
The “Oops!” campaign, which was created by Adcity, Posterscope, Havas Media and VCCP, was voted on by more than 1,500 members of the public and selected as the “People’s Favourite” at the 2018 Outdoor Media Awards.
Ultravision’s six side-by-side LED digital billboards form the largest LED display on Cromwell Road and are part of Clear Channel UK’s ‘Storm Cromination London’ site. Each screen measures 10 meters by 40 meters and can be used in sync by advertisers to create one dazzling unified display.
Storm, Clear Channel UK’s super-premium digital portfolio, includes 24 iconic structures in five of the largest cities in the UK.
The “Oops!” campaign showcased not only the visually-stunning nature of the Cromwell Road display, but also how effective the advertising hotspot can be for brands looking to boost their revenues. The campaign drove 70 percent of period sales for O2 and sent incremental revenue up £17m ($23 million) year-over-year.
“The ‘Oops!’ campaign is a perfect example of how advertisers are taking advantage of the creativity and imagination that our innovative LED display solutions can allow for,” said William Hall, CEO and co-founder of Ultravision. “We are thrilled to see how effective the ‘Oops!’ campaign has been for O2’s business and look forward to continuing to raise the bar for what’s possible in the world of digital advertising.”
Ultravision’s Cromwell Road display is part of its expanding portfolio of LED displays, which includes a brand new LED digital billboard in the heart of Glasgow’s ‘Style Mile’ and several LED displays in New York’s Times Square.
